Shrove Thursday: The tie is off!

The "fifth season of the year" as the Carnival is called, begins on November 11th at 11:11 AM. But the real "crazy days" do not start before the so-called Weiberfastnacht (Shrove Thursday), the Thursday before Rosenmontag (Carnival Monday) that is today. On this day ladies in the Rhineland traditionally appear at work in costume (if they appear at all and don't celebrate at one of the many parties "sessions" for this day). No man's safe today, especially not their ties.

As decreed by tradition in the Rhineland  the ladies of the department's secretariat are wearing costume today.

Straight away they lanced onto the most important action of the day, that is the dean's tie: Uta Hillen, Anne Harzheim-Kaiser and Kira Wazinski appraoched scissors in hand, just as soon as Dean Prof. Wolfgang Heiden had stepped into the office. The dean however was well prepared with his own creation - a paper-tie: One more trophy for the collection of our "crazy" ladies.

Alaaf and Helau Cool - a happy carnival with lots of fun to all of you!
